Happy Women’s Day!

We're thrilled to have so many fantastic women and non-binary people behind the scenes here at Dear Diary Coffee, including dozens of artists. Here are a few of the shining stars that are instrumental to everything we do:

🚴‍♀️ Calais, @teamsnacks – Dear Diary sponsors this WTFNB intermediate cycling club, and we're always happy to see them meet up at the shop for rides or parties. Calais is the president, but we have a whole board of awesome ladies to thank for hosting fun cycling events at the shop.

🚴‍♀️ Kat, @wtf.bike – Kat regularly leads bike rides out of our shop. She also hosts cycling seminars with WTF speakers nearly every month. She's a super positive, proactive force in women- and trans-rights, and pretty much every cyclist in town knows her!

🎹 Kirsten, @atxmusicaltheatrecollective – Kirsten hosts an open mic for musical theater folks every 3rd Sunday, 4pm – 7pm. The cool thing about her free, public event is singers can bring sheet music if they would like piano accompaniment.

🎸 Rusty Paige, @_rustypaige – Rusty hosts general open mics every Sunday from 4pm – 7pm, except when Kirsten takes over. Rusty's event is known for being super welcoming and chill.

🍩 Steph, @kneadatx – Steph and Cisco have supplied Dear Diary with delicious food ever since they moved to Austin a couple years ago.

🧁 Celeste, @celestesbest – Celeste was one of Dear Diary's first bakery vendors, and a joy to work with.

☕️ Kimberly & Sara, @sightseercoffee – Dear Diary is very proud to partner with these "Feminist AF" coffee roasters out of South Austin. All their beans come from women-owned coffee farms and women-led coffee cooperatives.

🧁 Kia, @cakethievesbakery – Everyone LOVES Cake Thieves, a woman-owned bakery and full service restaurant in San Antonio. Everything they make is fantastic. We don’t know Kia very well – she’s probably the busiest woman on the planet with such a booming business to run — but we really appreciate her bakery’s Austin deliveries!

🎨 Grey – Grey is new! They started as a market helper and cook, and now they are helping with Dear Diary Market, our consignment program. Grey is smart as a whip, and we're excited about the program will benefit from their leadership.

🎨 Sam, @creativecutiesatx – Sam is a leader in the art community, and the #1 reason Dear Diary is able to provide such a big, wonderful market experience during #AustinStudioTour. Sam deserves all the credit for making it happen the last two years, and we're always delighted when her meetup, Creative Cuties, uses our space.

☕️ Rachel, Senior Barista – Everyone loves Rachel’s sweet demeanor, and more than one customer has remarked on the relaxing energy Rachel brings to the shop. She is also a FANTASTIC barista—just very skillful. We’re lucky to have her on the team.

☕️ Colleen, Store Manager – Were this list prioritized, Colleen would be at the top! She is truly person who keeps the shop humming. She is a perfect combination of smart and kind with a large sense of responsibility. She’s also an incredible illustrator and animator. She won’t brag about herself, but we’re happy to do it for her! :D

☕️ Meg, Miles, and Jess, baristas – The remainder of our crew just so happens to be entirely W/NB, which is great because we can give kudos to everyone today! Meg has a great sense of humor, Miles is known for being super personable, and Jess is another sweetheart (like Rachel). Their dynamic is so good. It’s hard to imagine a better team.

🌮 Violet, cook – Dear Diary’s tacos and other house foods are carefully made by Violet. She is also a poet and jeweler, and you may have seen her making little haikus on her old fashioned typewriter. Did you know our tacos are made by such a cool person?

🍕 Litsa, owner – Dear Diary Coffee was Litsa’s dream, and everyone listed in this post made it come true. She is deeply grateful. <3
