Healthy people + healthy economy

We converted our dining room into a retail space after the first Corona spike in early July. Why? When people take their masks off to eat, it puts everyone at risk. Lame-o.

On the bright side, we can use this time to spotlight Austin artists, crafters, bakers, and makers! Retail has given us a way to participate in the Austin small business economy until normal food business operations are safe again. You’ve embraced our art consignment program with enthusiasm, so we think these pop-up sales will be fun!

Retail allows Dear Diary to enforce the masks-on rule. We also keep our doors open as much as possible so fresh air can circulate throughout our shop. These methods, in addition to social distancing and sanitizing, have successfully kept us and our customers safe throughout the pandemic.

We love making business buddies, and we know you do too! If 2020 taught us anything, we can have healthy people AND healthy economy when we support one another. ♥

Cheers,

Litsa, Josh, Kristina, and Kati
